Studying Abstract Art in Second Grade

Second grade artists delved into abstract art and learned that visual art does not have to look realistic to be representational. Students looked to artists such as Picasso, Mondrian and Stella. They worked in a hands on way to discover that artists are often inspired by the work of others.
